a local yarn shop dedicated to supporting a community of fiber artists

Iron Horse opened September 8, 1999 in a newly renovated room in the historical barn on the family property in Sherborn. In the fall of 2009 Iron Horse relocated to 3 Pond Street in beautiful downtown Natick, Massachusetts. We blossomed there as a yarn, fiber and gift shop building our community with knitting, crocheting, hand spinning yarn, and weaving for all.
On July, 21, 2019, a devastating 9-alarm fire destroyed our block of businesses. Nothing was left after 14 hours of burning but charred wood and ashes. While our store is gone, our spirit is bursting with the love and support from our customers, friends, family, neighbors, and town. In January 2020, the shop was opened back in Sherborn. A new beginning and rebirth.
Classes have resumed in our modern room in our beautiful historical 1890’s barn in Sherborn, MA. Just two miles from our location in Natick. We have come back to our humble beginning where it all started 21 years ago. There is free parking, great lighting, good company with limited yarn and supplies for your projects,
